Zoo-fari: An Evening in the Wild

Eat, drink and take a walk on the wild side as NSM’s Culture & Science series explores the Houston Zoo! On your NSM safari, you’ll have many choices of animal encounters.

See what it’s like to stand face-to-face with a giraffe and offer it a crunchy lettuce leaf snack, brace yourself for an up-close-and-personal experience with a cheetah, or watch an elephant paint a picture. Zookeepers will guide you through each exhibit and answer all your questions about your new animal friends.

The Culture & Science series brings together alumni, faculty, staff and friends. More details on the event will be available in late August; ticket sales for Zoo-fari will begin at that time.

Recap: Culture & Science Alley Theatre @ UH Event

Thirty-four alumni and friends attended the April Culture & Science event featuring Arthur Miller’s play, “All My Sons.” The play was inspired by the story of a successful businessman who sold the government defective airplane parts during World War II. At the pre-show reception, physics and Texas Center for Superconductivity at UH professor John Miller led a discussion covering “Technology: 1940 to 2015.” See the event photos on NSM’s Flickr page.
